The PRINCE2® Foundation Exam assesses your understanding of the PRINCE2® project management approach. It covers PRINCE2®’s seven principles, seven themes, and seven processes. The following information provides insight into the current structure of the PRINCE2® Foundation test.

  • Question Type: Multiple-Choice 
  • Total Questions: 60 
  • Total Marks: 60 Marks 
  • Pass Marks: 60%, or 36/60 Marks 
  • Duration: 1 Hour 
  • Open Book/ Closed Book: Closed Book

PRINCE2® Practitioner Exam Details

The PRINCE2® Practitioner Exam is a multiple-choice examination that assesses your understanding of how to apply PRINCE2® to real-world projects. It is the second level of certification in the PRINCE2® suite, intended for Project Managers who have previously completed the PRINCE2® Foundation Exam. The following information explains the structure of the PRINCE2® Practitioner Exam. 

  • Question Type: Multiple-Choice  
  • Total Questions: 70 
  • Total Marks: 70 Marks 
  • Pass Marks: 60%, or 42/70 Marks 
  • Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Open Book/ Closed Book: This PRINCE2® practitioner exam is an ‘Open Book’. The Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 publication, 2023 edition, should be used. No other material is allowed.

There are no formal requirements for the PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner Training Course. The PRINCE2® Foundation & Practitioner Training Course covers both the fundamentals and the advanced components of PRINCE2. However, prior experience with projects or project settings might be advantageous.
